Looks like the twin to this gun. I guess I'll get a letter for it. How long does it take for one to get a letter?

win: letters gonna cost you $100 and may take a few weeks...sadly, it aint worth it, as your gun is too early to have ever been a real parker skeet gun...in the trade, anything else is a shooter, not a collector...

I don't believe I've ever seen a gun with that many Remington repair codes on it --

ED3 = Oct 1935
WE3 = Aug 1936
EJ3 = Oct 1940
CL3 = Apr 1942
LZZ3 = Feb 1953

That many trips to Remington and most of the screws are not properly indexed?

Looks like maybe gave up on a Parker single trigger and had a Miller installed.

That Ithaca Gun Co. recoil pad with the aluminum base was introduced in 1950.

If nothing else it has been well traveled. lol It's a shame, I was hoping it would bring big money for the lady. Going the gunbroker route doesn't look too promising. I see a boatload of them on there with no bids. Looking at previous closed bids show none selling. I was told Guns Internationl maybe a good option. Any other places come to mind?

Try and sell it here a a shooter for a women or child. Maybe a 2 k gun to the right person. the gun has zero collectible value. IM HO

Not Apples to Apples but I bought a 12G VHE lettered as 26 inches, no alterations except replaced pad, bore and mechanicals all ok, finish all original but fairly well worn, few years ago for 1600 at the Southern SXS .

Factory 26 inch Parkers are scarce & I wanted one for Hunting. Had looked for a 26 inch Parker gun for some time. Have all the longer Parkers I need. Its a light 12 G on a 1 1/2 frame. Probably 6 oz heavier than your 1 frame 16 , based on what my 1 frame 28 inch 16 weighs.

Your GHE 16 may be worth more if somebody wants a lighter gun or a 16 g, less if they object to the Cyanide case or the restock. Hunter likely to over look both if the gun fits and feels right. Best way to sell is join PGCA and list it well described and photographed with the letter which may help prove it has not been cut. Carefully measurements on chokes length and barrel wall thickness too. The photo still raises cut questions to my eye.

Selling on PGCA . No fees other than the membership and reduced member cost factory letter.

Opinion worth what it cost.

Winchester348,

You are getting a lot of chatter here on your gun here. Take heed and be selective as to who you listen too. Just because one posts a LOT on a thread, does not mean they know their stuff.

Anyway... your Parker has been heavily altered from its original configuration when it was made. Based on the number of repair codes, it was at the Parker (remington) factory many times for various reasons. I can tell you that the restock and the conversion to a beavertail forend was certainly done by the remington factory. The miller trigger conversion and the case colors on the gun were not. The case colors were likely done at the same time as the trigger since the installation of the trigger would require at least the trigger plate to be annealed and then hardened again.

Generally factory upgrades and changes to a gun are not frowned upon by the collecting community. However, the trigger and the case colors would be.
The only real wart on the gun is the damage to the forend iron which appears to have been dropped and the corners broken off.

The gun would still have a lot of value to people as a shooter. It would be expected to be worth maybe in the middle of the broad range of values that one may see on such guns.

If you want any more thoughts on the gun, please do aska bout it on the PGCA forum. You will not get anymore useful information on it here.
