ANYONE have a idea where to look for a buttstock for a Rem 1900 model?

My thoughts exactly. Add up the cost of a walnut blank, and the cost or time to carve, inlet, and checker it... and the price of a good used widow's peak Remington butt plate, and that one looks pretty reasonable.
I think some good steaming would take out most of the dents, and even improve the dent/gouge at the nose of the comb. It doesn't have any dowels or screws through the cheeks like so many Remingtons. But I think I would reinforce and glass bed it so that never happens.

Hard for me to tell, but based on what I can see of the serial number, it looks to be from an 1894.
Much better condition than others I've seen.

By the checkering pattern it is for an A-quality gun, but what you can't tell from the pictures is it for an early style action or the later style action? Is it for the large frame or a small frame?
