One should be able to get real good knife for about $150. If I spend similar to what is shown in original post I would want something professional grade that would hold up to hard use instead of something that looks like a "hood ornament". One example would be Tsuge TS-23. I'm not saying that what is sold up there is bad, but we do not know where from what quality materials were used and by whom it was made.

Not a bad gun. If I ever buy another handgun it will be Guncrafters CCO. Don't much care for spending hundreds on knives, but best quality handgun is nice thing to spend money on.

That bowie pictured is no hood ornament...it's gutted several deer ripped the rib cages on many and would still slice a man to pieces. It's a flat ground Confederate bowie made by the late Jerry McDonald. Elephant bark ivory scales and elephant hide sheath. Jim Bowie would've gave his left Nutt to own such a knife.

....I hope I don't seem too negative, have fun at the expo. ....Thanks, Matt and Lloyd. With that rec I think I'll call Lou and get him to pack one up and bring it to Bray's Island. See ya', SRH It was only thoughts, I'm sure you'll like it. I do like your bowie. A vest bowie might be nice for dinner out and Sunday's.

Craig Steketee made several of my aggressive knives in Damascus and Indian stag. Makes his own Damascus. He has a website.

I was referring to the double edge boot knife in original post. What you have there must have cost a lot more than $260.

Has anybody on this forum ever seen or owned one of the Galazan damascus boot knives? Is it decent quality, or some cheap India made junk? The pics are just not good enough for me to tell. I was thinking of calling and getting them to pack one up to bring to the Bray's Island Exposition next month. I like the looks of it, from what I can tell. http://www.csmcspecials.com/Engraved_Double_Edge_Boot_Knife_p/k0180e.htm SRH I have the Thumb Grove Hunter, it is not cheap crap from India or Pakistan and I consider the quality good for what you are getting. At some point since 1990 they came out with a way to make relatively inexpensive Damascus knife blanks. Below is a link to the AG Russell knife website filtered for Damascus blades (I hope): https://agrussell.com/knivesIt wouldn't hurt though to see if they would bring it to the expo for you to see it first hand
I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.
