I recently purchased a new double at a gun show only to notice the rib is coming loose (of course after i got home) is there anyone on here that can re-solder the rib for me? im in eastern Wisconsin/minneapolis-saint paul area, can anyone suggest somebody that can do this type of repair... thanks

How large of a section is lose? If it is a small area I can often do a spot repair. The larger the section that is lose the less likely a localized repair is possible. A full relay is very costly but I can do it.

When the rib on my Trojan came loose I had to have the barrels reblued, too. If you're going to do a full re-lay, count on the cost of a re-blue, too.

I'm guessing you are hesitant to ship.
Did you check with Ahlman's Custom Gun in Morristown, MN? Pat Laib, in Spicer, MN? You might want to call Puglesey, in Duluth (Gary New Duluth, MN actually) to see who they are using.
Staying in MN might be a mistake, I know more gunsmiths here I WOULDN'T have work on it, than those I would. Plenty of 870/1100 mechanics here, but, few good gunsmiths.

Bachelder in Grand Rapid, Michigan, may be a lot closer. http://www.mastergunmakers.com/They relayed the ribs on my bird gun of over 50 years, my 1914 vintage Ansley H. Fox, A-grade, 28-inch barrel, 12-gauge. The bottom rib had a few years earlier been spot repaired by Keith Kearcher.
