I once was shooting on a squad right behind Jim Carmichael, in a hammergun event. My squad was much smaller than his so I was waiting to shoot on every station and got to watch him shoot. He was using a beautiful, very high quality hammergun. Before each pair he would mutter to himself "Cock the damn thing". Quite amusing to watch.

I have a 16 ga model 52 and a 12 ga model 103A Husky. Use them for ducks. Great guns....if you remember to cock em.

Great thread. Fun to see someone else getting sucked in to the world of hammer guns. I currently have five Husky hammerguns, although I may have to sell one or three for an upcoming move:
16ga mod.100, 44, 12ga 103A, C, and 350. I have owned and shot many more, and I think I like the sidelock 100 series models the best, both from a wood durability standpoint (the round body back action models, while great to hold in the hands, are prone to wood cracking around the plates), and the fact that many of them came chambered for 2.75" shells.

Since ther are several Husqvarna fans here I have a question:

does anyone have the monobloc barrel model? I believe it was numbered in the 50 range and made before the war for a short time.

I have a Pedersoli La Bohemanie, took it out duck hunting with two of my boys, and their boys, managed to knock down a goose, but only had twos in, I reloaded and headed out to get the thing, just as I bent down to pick it up the goose took flight, I pulled up on it and wondered why the gun didn't go boom when I pulled the trigger, it took me a second to realize what I had done, or hadn't done, still got the goose, but I was reminded of this story!
