Stan I am not familiar with Detcord, but assume this is a "Detonating" cord. These were/are used it setting off charges of high explosives when it is desired they go off simultaneously. Detonating powders are a whole different ball game. When one end "Goes Off" the whole length Goes off. Thus you could connect one charge with a 25' cord & another with a 150' cord. If the other ends are Touched off together you will be unable to detect a difference in when the two charges fire.

This would not be the case if Black Powder chains were being used with this much difference in length. Propellants suitable for use in firearms, whether black or smokeless, burn, they do not detonate. If they did they would Blow the gun to smithereens every time a trigger was pulled, such is the character of detonating powders.

One possible tip on the flint, which you may already be aware of, but do not fill the priming pan above the touch hole but just up to the bottom of it. The flash will immediately hit the touch hole igniting the powder inside. If the hole is covered the powder has to burn down to its level before ignition can occur. Admittedly a very short interval, but detectable, which also goes to show the entire charge does not go at once.

I have seen some high Quality flints so loaded on which I could detect no discernible difference in ignition time between them & a percussion, never sell a good flinter short.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this exchange with you Stan. Nice to talk things over in a decent & civilized manner, of course that is always the case with your posts.
