I have given this question a lot of thought and concluded that I'm an accumulator. There was a time when I was a collector of Colt double action target revolvers, but that was many years ago and an unfortunate election result in the state in which I lived at the time led me to send the collection off to auction, where I realized a small profit on the collection. Fortunately, shortly after that, I ended up moving to a far more firearms friendly state and commenced to buy things that intrigued me, without any particular direction or theme. The end result was a motley assortment of handguns, rifles and shotguns. Only the shotguns get a regular workout today, as I no longer shoot bullseye pistol or informal bench rest and my rifle hunting is confined to a once a year deer hunt.

I'm of an age now where I need to downsize and have begun doing so, although at a much too slow pace. It was a lot of fun finding things that grabbed my interest and playing with them for a while. And at least until recently, I could pick up new toys without worrying about disposing of older ones.

This hobby really is a lot of fun and the opportunities to enjoy interesting mechanisms and beautiful hand work are almost unlimited.
