You really need to measure the chamber length. Catalog printed info is NOT 100 % reliable. They edited the catalogs when major product changes were made-sometimes.

I would not worry about shooting any factory but steel. If you measure a lot of the 16 hulls are in between 2 9/16 and 2 3/4. Most likely due to using imported hills which run 65-67mm instead of 70. The NID is a modern design, built with excellent steels which should be fine with most factory loads. I would not include a heavy diet of magnum loads but a few won't kill it. It might smack you a little more than you like. If in doubt measure it or just shoot RST loads.

the 16 gauge nid is a classic grouse gun...too bad the dogs and the grouse are now gone...all that is left is us and the gons...somehow hit dont seam right...
keep it simple and keep it safe...
