Morphy just merged with (bought?) James Julia Auction House of Maine. Julia's are known for the very high class gun auctions in the US. However, Morphy's buyers fee in their last auction was 23%! Julia's is 15%. Say you are selling a rifle and expect $10,000.00 from the auction. Now the 23% that the buyer would have to add means the Rifle would cost him $12,300.00 and you would probably have to pay a 5% sellers fee! You could make more or less than the $10,000.00, that is how an auction works. You also have to wait 45 days for you money! Try Gunsinternational as an option and list for $10,500.00 and come down to $10,000.00 if you have to. I did hear Morphy's is a solid and honest company, however. The auction house is making $2800.00 on your sale, how much are you making?
