YOu could convert it to ribless in the Alex Martin fashio, or even fit it with a quick detachable carbon fiber top rib and thus kill several birds with one stone:

1- you would save weight up forward
2- eliminate the hidden rust trap between the ribs
3- stronger loop to barrels connection

Atlernatively you can eliminate just the bottom rib as in some Darnes.
