I'm sure I would have been in the dog house, had the wife known about some of my purchases!
One time a friend came over to check out a sxs I had purchased. My wife usually got home from work about an hour later than I. Anyway, he had the shotgun in his hands eyeballing it and I heard the door open. Earlier than expected, my wife walked in and wondered what was up? I told her, my friend brought his new shotgun over to show me and without skipping a beat, he said "well, I'd better be going" and walked out of the house with the shotgun in his hands and left for his home. He brought it in to work the next day and I was able to slip it into the house and put away before my wife came home that evening.
