I'll just remind canvasback that it was a Republican who invaded Iraq and killed 5000 American troops and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. It was the worst single government act since Vietnam-- for which both Democrats and Republicans bear the blame. Enjoy your tax cuts.
What does that have to do with anything we are discussing here, Bill? The specific action you reference, with 20/20 hindsight, appears to have been a mistake....a mistake supported at the time by almost all members on both sides of the aisle as well as the vast majority of Americans. George Bush had one of the highest approval ratings ever when those decisions were being made.
Are you making the point that mistakes can be made? If so, I'll grant you that.
My point is that business as usual for Democrats has largely been against the best interests of MOST Americans. White, Black and everything in between. Socialism is like that. Bad for all. Just look at Venezuela these days. What should be a economic and social paradise is a disaster of, I'd like to say unprecedented but it's not, it's just what happens under socialism, proportions.
