It's patently obvious the concept of classic liberalism, for which you posted a perfectly acceptable definition, has been kicked to the curb by those who call themselves liberals these days. The definition of the word has been altered by it's current proponents.

You need to be specific....are you discussing liberalism as it is espoused by the Left today or are you talking about Classic Liberalism, which is the foundational philosophy of our modern, democratic western world.
