The Winchester in question was the fiberglass barreled Model 59. Made to introduce the 14ga (using aluminum shells). I've seen one 14ga Model 59 along with some shells. Astronomical price. Expect only a Winchester collector would be interested.

The gun did OK as a 12ga. The late outdoor writer Frank Woolner cut one down and made it even lighter, and touted it as a grouse and woodcock killing machine.

Not for you.

In the case of Regis, "il mange bien, il boit bien, il baise bien". Wine and dinner with a rich Frog beats a broke Brit everytime.

I was the second highest bidder on a 14 ga. gun at Holt's a year or two ago. Story of my life it seems. If I had won I was going to go the RMC route.

Didnt understand a word of that Ted, but I havent felt that insulted since the time I was in that large city in Kwee-beck with a crappy hockey club.

Dang, Ted. Can you ever resist sending a thread off into lala land? We're all friends here, but can you just just let it go once in a while?

Fwiw, the gun is sold.

I acquired a 14 gauge pinfire a couple of years ago. Right after acquiring it I found fifty never fired 14 gauge pinfire hulls. Lucky!!

L.C. Smith made one 14 ga., an 0 grade serial number 3643 30" barrels with auto ejectors. So far as known it has never surfaced. It was shipped in 1899 to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis to executive S.W.Read.

Here's my Husqvarna 44. It has 14ga bores, and a 16 fits in the chamber, but a bit sloppily. I need to have RMC make shells for it before they go out of business. I've since added an [blended] extension to this gun.
