C'mon Ted, it's not like they're synthetic 870s. Pre-war pumpers can be pretty nice too (as you well know).

Actually, Lloyd, I was pointing out that "other fine guns" would appear to leave a good bit of latitude for discussion.
And, that nobody from Kansas had been annointed an administrator, as of yet.
Best, Ted

I stand corrected on my misinterpretation of of the website’s focus, and apologize for the diversion.
I do agree the older Ithaca 37 is a good gun.

Old Colonel: Very gracious of you Sir, thank you. A few truly well-made old pumpers were and are very good bird guns. It keeps things fun here to see them in the hands of folks who appreciate them.

Besides, it's Veterans Day. Thanks much for your service o c. Some things might be interesting, but maybe not so important.

I also enjoy the pump-gun threads here. There's no "off topic" forum nowadays, and most of us are not completely single minded individuals. I can talk doubleguns, pumps, A-5 autoloaders, single shots, and even rifles a little...Geo

Shotgunlover: Very well put (& the first time I've ever heard it described thus!). They DO look a bit art-deco: They certainly scream 1930s.

The forum is important to me as a source of information and opinions about all sporting long guns, an amazing amalgam of generosity and professionalism, knowledge and curiosity, that enriches my life. The forum really got me into doubles although I'm mostly a rifle man.

That very 20 ga. model 30 will be on it's way from CO to GA, to do service in the dove fields, in a few days. Thanks, Lloyd. SRH
