I agree. I gave up 28 ga guns long ago & I now have one 20 ga & one 16 ga that weigh right @ 6 lbs, all the rest are 12 ga guns ranging in weight from 6 1/4 lbs to 8 lbs.

For me a 6 1/4 lb. 12 ga gun is light enough for grouse & woodcock & handles shot weights from 7/8 oz to 1 1/16 oz very well w/o excessive recoil. I think that I shoot it better than a 6 lb gun & I like the wider bbls w/a splinter forend & it's slightly more robust proportions than the smallbores guns.

A 2" 12 ga @ slightly over 6 lbs would be fun.
