Raimey, the issue with a lot of copper or nickel shot is that it's just washed on. Doesn't do much to improve the quality of the shot, make it harder, etc. I don't know whether RST's copper shot loads fall into that category. But since I was ordering a flat, including loads for grouse and woodcock as well as pheasants, figured I might as well include a couple boxes.

One advantage of copper shot: It's easier to see and remove when you clean the bird.
