Tre, what a wonderful gift!! Thanks so much! I'll take the Chapuis Royal Woodcock. I'll send you my address vis PM. Again, what a pleasant surprise and thanks (I'll probably keep it myself you know).

Anyway, I have had several friends out in Incirlik and Adana, Turkey over the past few years who have talked up Huglu, which is probably why I got that idea.. I had a friend posted to Ankara years ago who drove down to Huglu and bought one directly. SKB and Dickinson as well as models for a couple of English guns are made in that town - there is sxs expertise building there now for 50 years - It's the modern day Birmingham, Liege, Saint Etienne - the whole town is SxS, O/U, shotgun in general. One friend just bought a 12 and 20 O/U in Adana...and took a dozen people from the Consulate over to the store to shop. Their engraving is a little over the top imho...Huglu offers a "Constantinople" special which feature engraved pictures of Sultan Mehmed II as he took the City on May 29, 1453...calculated to outrage the Greeks. But my friend bought the extravagant engraving - then again he's a Cajun driving a Ford F150 with 6" lifts and 35" mudders (and a darned good shot).

I'll now take that $750 I saved and start building a fund to get a copy of Sandlapper's 1930's Verney Carron Heliduplex. What a beautiful gun!! - photos deleted from the line but you can see them in the ad below:

And that 16 gauge Saint Etienne gun is indeed staying in the family.
