Can anyone scan a copy of Geoffrey Boothroyd's article on Cashmore's Patent Nitro Action in the Vol 1 Issue 3 of DGJ (before my time as a subscriber)? Have an old Cashmore and would love to see what Geoffrey's article has to say. Many thanks.

Joe,

If you'd like a hard copy of the article, I can photocopy it tomorrow and send it on its way. I just glanced at the article and it looks to be a pretty indepth 6 pager with photos. Please send me your address if a hard copy will suffice.

Thanks,
Ken

Joe, let me know if you need any further assistance. I find that I have no useful research material on Birmingham guns. Nigel Brown, I think, is the author of a book on Birmingham guns which is a companion to his book on London guns. His book on London guns (which I do own)includes information on the recent owners of the records of gun companies and I assume the Birmingham book has similar information. Boothroyd indicates that he was able to obtain old Cashmore catalog copies from Gunnerman Books. These reprints may still be available. Murphy

Brown's book has almost nothing in it. Tate's "Birmingham Gunmakers" has a good write up and spends a few paragraphs on the Mill's patent adopted by Cashmore to build his pigeon guns (the exterior hook design on my gun). I am looking forward to seeing what Geoff has to say. Good to see you yesterday at the shoot.
