Trying to assist a friend ID a gun, and could use some help if folks are willing.

16ga
Greener cross-bolt
Krupp steel barrel
Boxlock
Ejector
GEBR.REMPT SUHL stamped on the breach face
REMO stamped on top rib
Other markings that seem Belgian to me; am no expert though

Nice wood. Little rotating cocking indicators on the sides of the action. I can get more pictures, but what I have right now are here:

Very sad to say that the bores are horribly pitted for the first 2" forward of the chambers.

Thanks for any information you can share. I believe this was a fellows grandfather's, and it's been laying idle for some time.

From the info, you supplied, your friend's gun is not Belgian at all, it is German. Gebr.Rempt Suhl( Rempt Brothers from Suhl)was a well known firm that made all types of hunting guns. REMO was their brand name. While not very legible, the proof marks are clearly German. Unless it has been rechambered, it is chambered for 65mm (2 1/2- 2 9/16") shells rather than the current standard 70mm( 2 3/4").
