I use very fine silver solder for "welding, brazing" broken band saw blades or new blades from coil stock and mostly using map gas with a fine tip. Blade at the ends will be red hot for the silver solder to melt.
Oxygen/acetylene is also fine to use with a 0000 tip (Smith torch).
Regular small bottled propane ( 1 lb.?) with torch attached will not melt silver solder for my use.
I agree with others that silver soldering will be too hot.
