Ted: what you shoot is all up to you. I certainly would not feed it anything remotely warm. Maybe even 7/8s of an ounce going along quite moderately. It would still do the job quite nicely.
Thomas Turner lightweights were made very light in a number of ways it seems. I was told by an individual selling one that Turner even bored the barrels in a very specific way to save on weight as well. As he described it to me, most of the tube is effectively a "jug" choke. This made the barrels somewhat hard to clean effectively, leading to significant pitting issues in most every one I ever got to consider.
