I am taking my daughter to UNL this week to look at the school. I am betting we will "stumble upon" the Cabelas there. Any recommendations for fine guns or sporting apparel shopping? Museums? I was thinking of visiting Homestead Nat'l Mon.
We leave tomorrow morn., early.
Thanks, Lou

No, nothing "really" cool. Cabelas will have the biggest selection of decent doubles. Guns Unlimited has average selection, mostly newer stuff. Scheels has some doubles too. Thats about it for doubleguns.
Around Omaha, we have the Henry Doorly Zoo (highly recommended), the Joslyn Museum, the Strategic Air Command museum in between Lincoln and Omaha (highly recommended).

LeFusil, is Bedlan's still open in Fairbury? I used to go there a LONG time ago and drool over the Parkers Felix had, literally by the dozens. If memory serves, 60-70 miles SW of Omaha but well worth the drive.

Bedlans is open. Its worth a stop if you are in the area (however, I wouldnt go a long way off my path to get there) and if Felix is there and will take you into the vault. There are a lot of interesting guns there. Prices are kind of high though.

I was in Bedlans about a year ago looking at some of his Browning A-5's. His inventory isn't what it used to be. I used to get his "flyer" in years past and was always stocked with plenty of Win. 21's, 24's, Parkers, Elsies and a few Brit and continentals, but....I only saw a couple doubles the last time I was there and as Ross pointed out...his prices are awfuly high on just about everything he sells.
