fishrising, ( like the handle by the way ) The Crown Sable is like a 601 however all 601s I have seen have had assisted opening - H & H type. No Crown Sable that I have seen has had the assisted opening feature. Doesn't mean that there aren't some but I haven't seen any, perhaps others have. The Crown Sables have the 601 engraving pattern with the crown added. Have owned in the past. Good guns, well put together with good quality materials. Suggest that you have a close look at the rear of the action to wood fit. Some I have seen have had the beginnings of cracks at this juncture. Easy enough to remedy and to prevent. The 601 is very highly regarded by Arrietta personnel and are suggested to those who want the most quality for the dollar without investing in engraving.
