Picturetrail is the answer >> it's free and easy This. But use it only for sharing. Storing should be done on your own external hard-drive which you can plug right into your next computer when your current one dies (every 3-4 years?). You can't use these free sites as your storage space, because they all eventually stop wanting to give their product away for free. I would personally rather get what I pay [modestly] for what I get from the beginning, but the "new" way of doing things (at least on the internet) seems to be giving stuff away for free ("setting the hook"), and then attempting to charge later ("reeling them in"). But it hasn't proven to work too well. - Nudge

Lots of good threads are going to be stripped of photos. From $0 to $400. Can't see that lasting...

It's basically bait and switch and a form of ransomware. I've heard a class action suit is in the works.

Hi all, great info, I've used PB also with very good results, but seems like the gravy train is gone. I did register with jpgbox, very easy BTW.
I was wondering if one can transfer their pictures on PB to jpgbox? And if so, how?
Thanks for the heads up!
Greg

Greg, I believe you will always be able (so far) to download from PB to your computer and then upload to a new account. I got the $10 upgrade from free to no ads earlier this year on PB, so my photos still appear. When that contract runs out, Katie bar the door. What's to stop jpbox to eventually doing the same as PB at a later date? Google has cloud storage on photos, but then that puts one subject to ransom as well. Gil
