Other side is not much better. Seller said he thought the knots would turn out. You might cut the for-end and add a contrasting extension. That sap wood might be dodged by holding to the far side of the blank. The knot over the grip might be a bit of a minor issue since it comes out the bottom of the other side not the middle of this side. Now if you were thinking about pistol grips he is right but not for a rifle or two piece blank. But at 6" max. width there is not much room to dodge defects.

For $295.00 I think it is an expensive stick of firewood. I have better sticks of "cull" wood that I bought for five or ten bucks each. I guess one person's great blank is another person's what were you thinking blank. smile If anyone wants this one it is still listed on EBay. Buy it now for $295.00 plus shipping.
