Most all English smallbores in this country seem to have 26" barrels. Purdey / Boss
I looked on GI last night and all the other Boss 20 bores were listed north of 50k. All them had short barrels. This is a 30's gun which has a lot more quality.
I understand from my friend he has asked Julias to send the Boss back.

In my opinion, the 2 3/4" chambers and spurious proof marks are what really killed it.

Looks like it could have gone through a proof house in CT.

Not being an expert on Proof Marks I did look at the pictures and did not see anything wrong. May be you can be more specific.

From Julia's description: "Bbl flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 7/8 oz and 2 1/2 chambers and are also stamped 2 3/4" with no re-proof mark."

Check the odd font, clean, precise style on the 2 3/4" mark, too. So is that a legit proofhouse mark, just more current, or something else?

OWD, Were you there? If so, how did I miss you?

I sat through almost all of Poulin's and Julia's. Some items were much stronger than you would imagine - British military and Schuetzen rifles. There were definitely some buys to be had.

Hey, Tom-

I was at Julia's on Sat for the preview.

Sorry I missed you.

Did you pick up anything?

Picked up quite a few for a museum-quality collection I'm working on for a client.

Darn. I was still in the air on Saturday. Would have liked to have said hello.

I was told that the buyer of the A-1 Special Parker put his hand up & did not take it down until the hammer fell. It must be nice to be able to do that.
