State Game Production Areas in South Dakota require the use of non-toxic shot for all game birds. This South Dakota requirement has been in effect for many years.

Additionally, land managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers around the Missouri River (near Pierre, SD, for example) also requires non toxic shot for all birds.

There may be other state requirements outside of California.
