Lawrence, at this blind Luke swims pretty much right up to the door so he does not get to wallow in the mud much.

Bill, regarding that "tingle", isnt it a little quick to judge her? All we know about her is that she was that she was middle aged, liked the outdoors, wealthy and single.......What am I thinking she's a 10. Nevermind.

Jeff, she reminds me of someone I woke up with this morning, except the single part. I wish my friend Joe had mentioned her name. Murphy

The math wouldn't work old friend. I would guess she was in her mid-40 somethings in 72; that would mean she is in her late 70 somethings today. I hope she is well and still knocking them down somewhere in this world or the next.

By the way, Jeff, speaking of romance and "messing around", my little Wirehair has been on cloud nine since having her little rendevoux with your Luke this weekend.

Great story, Joe. Reminds me a bit of the story by Brister that I mentioned earlier. Welllll, not quite.

A bit more duck blind trivia. A friend from Fayetteville, AR has several hundred acres on the Cache River. He bought it just a couple of years ago, and there were old, old blinds already there. They all, with the exception of two, are named for different states (of the union). Each gets its name because of a license plate nailed to a tree out front somewhere in the "hole". Each plate is from a different state. There is the Colorado, the Missouri, the Texas, well... you get the idea. But the one that isn't named for a state is the best. It's the Peabody. So named because of a green velvet covered chain with big nickeled hooks on each end, you know the kind that hang from stands in big hotels and theaters to create corridors. It hangs inside the warming room of the blind. It came from....... the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, of course. And EVERYBODY knows that the Peabody Hotel is the beginning of the Mississippi flyway, because every morning the elevator descends to the lobby full of mallards. A red carpet is rolled out from the elevator to the pool in the lobby and when the door opens the ducks walk the red carpet to the pool. This began many, many years ago and continues to this day, I am told. EVERY day.

Stan

May God bless America and those who defend her.
