Everyone knows that rust develops between the layers of iron and steel, so even if the barrels look sound, they are just waiting to burst and cause serious injury. They can literally unwind along the seams and actually spin back and wrap around your neck like some deadly Slinky. If you don't believe me, just look on the side of any box of shot shells.
