Posted this gun in the white I think last June and it was finally finished recently. Took it out of the safe and did a test drive last week. Gun started life as a Extractor Philly 16 gauge Sterlingworth with 28" barrels. Metal work was done by Dan Rossiter at Custom Stocks and Steel (who btw was accepted as a stockmaker by the ACCG last week in Dallas). Dan also restocked the gun with a Turkish blank I had located a few years ago. Gun was patterned after the first small bore 20 gauge made in 1912 using pictures I got out of the Double Gun Journal in 1995. Kept everything the same as that gun including the checkering pattern. Dan added an escutcheon to the forearm even though this gun is an extractor gun primarily to keep the looks the same. Mr. Gournet did all the engraving on the gun. Chokes are .004 and .014 and the gun weighs 6 lb 4 oz. Anyway, guess that's it. A few pictures I took last week are attached:

And the pup that made it all possible who turned 2 last week. My Lew Sophie. smile

That project was well worth the effort!!!! That came out beautifully and being a 16 gauge makes it even better!!!

Another beautiful Fox to add to the ever growing gallery of Fox guns on this board.

Just lovely. Interesting layout of the feather direction.

Grain flowed down from the head through the grip. Was the only way Dan could lay out the blank to maintain the strength in the grip area. Kinda hard to see the grain flow given where I placed the two quail to take the pic.

A very nice up-grade but why is it the fore arm wood is so much darker than butt stock wood?
