HI again Rocket
As I am always guessing at British gun values I would like to inform myself better, I mean its easier when you have a holland holland in your hands to find a value but its all the others in between.. can I ask you where you get the info on brand value and such...? Is there a book or is it from market values and auctions that you go by...? and any idea whether this was a W.C. Scott action..?
thanks again Sean

hi Gunsaholic
thanks for your comments. I restore firearms in Canada and am quite familiar with new case colouring and complete restorations, having done many British and American firearms, I specialize in Damascus barrel restoration. I work with a close friend of mine, Oskar Kob, up here and he does beautiful accurate case colour work. The Green receiver has not been redone. I actually found it hard to believe myself. But I can assure you its original. As well the barrel dimensions can be a good indicator of condition and they are excellent.

I wish I could get the pics to appear but alas I am incompetent. ha .....did it. if I should have listened to skeettx before. here are some better pics of the case, more in keeping with actual colour and condition. well actually these pics make it look much duller than in real life.....OH well I tried. Are these labels after market labels....? and/or are they consistent with proper time period...?

The barrels condition looks quite a bit better in your last pictures.
How about some more pics with the top of the tubes, including rib, and the underside of the tubes near the flats that would show any potential Maker's Marks?
Regards Ken

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

tiger, glad for any help this may be. The valuations come from a market research project I did for myself some 15 years and have maintained. Comparables come from auctions where I can know the sale price.
So, lets do the value based on Current Condition level one (CC1 = top 1 or 2 guns of 100 comparables current conditiion). BV and OQ are, of course, not affected by CC.
BV3-OQ4-CC1 = $7,959 (CC1 = Pristine = top one or two gun(s) of one hundred like guns)
BV3-OQ4-CC2 = $5,563 (CC2 = Limited use - slight finish wear, little shooting)
Again, I'm not very sure of the accuracy of this estimate due to lack of comparables.

Tiger, guns, I'm pretty sure you two know each other. Lol hi Gunsaholic

As I am always guessing at British gun values I would like to inform myself better, I mean its easier when you have a holland holland in your hands to find a value but its all the others in between.. can I ask you where you get the info on brand value and such...? I use the charts from my market research.
Is there a book or is it from market values and auctions that you go by...? From market values as established by auction results and other verifiable sales.
and any idea whether this was a W.C. Scott action..? Best guess is that Green bought in a machined action and bits and pieces. It could be a in-the-white trade barreled action or action. No way to know unless we find some marks or the Green books have something. Remember that the trade literally traded parts and work back and forth.

thanks again Sean PM me to discuss the charts.
