BrentD, only a German would feel the need for double underlugs, square crossbolt with extra bite at rear of rib extension, muscular shoulders with (I don't know what you would call that V shaped drop in). This guy must have had a bad dream about blowing up a gun once. And only a German would have attempted all the work to make such a complicated lockup. I can't imagine getting all those locking surfaces engaged simultaneously.

Jerry,
I'm not German and I don't much care for most German guns (although I do own a Merkel). But I like this one. And unlike alot of germanic gun work, a lot of what I see in this gun seems functional, if overkill. I especially like hammers - except when they interfere with sight picture while swinging on a bird. That's not a problem here.

Gustav Fukert patented those locks, ejectors, and highly unusual semi-hammers in 1893...but the patent for the Behr looking side clips was not issued until 1904, making that gun (most probably)post 1904...Fukert should have recieved more recognition for his accomplishments...???muzzleshloss???
