Steve Earle is producing quality hand checkering tools and handles. They come nicely finished made of A2 steel and properly heat treated. I have no financial interest , just a satisfied customer that wants this supplier to be around when I need him. Steve also sells several rifle actions and supplies, in addition to custom making screws, springs and parts. http://www.steveearleproducts.com/assorted%20things.htm

The handles are reasonably priced, but $22 each for a cutter head! WOW!!!

That type of tip can easily be re-sharpened by the user on an India stone, unlike the Dembart tips which are cut like a file and cannot be re-sharpened, so in the long run are fairly cheap.
