Hello Folks. My wife is learning to shoot with a Sterlingworth 20ga ejector that I located for her. She does not like the effort required to cock the ejectors.

Since the shells are raised enough to extract them when the ejectors have not been tripped, disabling the ejectors seems a viable approach for her.

What component would be temporarily removed to accomplish this? Thanks.

The guns do not take all that much extra effort to close with the ejectors. But that is just my opinion.

I am thinking about the fox ejector mechanism and basically gutting the forend iron of all the ejector parts would do the trick.
There is not really any one or two parts alone that will get it done.

I have heard of folks replacing the original springs with 1911 firing pin springs.

Please take care when you remove the original springs, or you may never find them again smile

She's only shot a couple of times, and she does find it difficult. It is better to do what I need to to help her enjoy this activity. That way we can do it together.

That sounds interesting. I haven't had my 1911 apart for a while. I'll take a look. These springs seem more stout that firing pin springs. They do seem a bit like 1911 mainsprings, or j-frame hammer springs.

That's all it took. Parts removed and safety tucked away for whenever it's time to restore them. Gun works much better to suit the lady who owns it.
Thanks.
