I got the hammer spring plungers and sear pin from Numrich yesterday. Miserable weather today so I cleared the dinning room table and put down an old bath towel and started assembling the Parler. I found an excellent YouTube video to reference. It was of great help. Still I had the usual false starts and bumbles. I had Mary lend two more hands getting the plungers compressed.

Sure enough, I couldn't find a place to use the pin. It worried me until I remembered B. Dudley's comment that it wasn't part of the gun.

I'm not sure what I'll do next but I fell better that it's in assembled units and I don't need the ziplok bag to store the parts.

Thanks for the help.

Dean, I have two sets of composite barrels for this gun, neither of which will close on the receiver. I am about ready to do the "hammerless conversion", but would rather use the composite barrels. Can you give me a gunsmith who would try to make my barrels close? He doesn't even have to fit the barrels, just identify where the interference is.

Just a note on that Youtube video. That is a SBT frame. Not a double frame. However, the installation of the hammer and mainspring itself is the same.

The use of a padded vise to hold the frame avoids having to use any sort of clamp. But, his solution is a good one if not using a vise.

Bill, Brad can do it but you should be prepared to wait a year or two.

I got it together yesterday but something wasn't right. The safety button wouldn't work. I fiddle-farted with it a lot trying to get receiver in stock so the safety link would fall in the slot in the button bar. It looked right. I was just going to leave well enough alone but after sleeping on it, I decided to make a fresh attempt this morning. Another hour of fiddle-farting and holding my tongue just right, I got it in place. Maybe more dumb luck than skill.

I've had this problem on a Baker Leader. I bought it at a bargain price because safety didn't work and forend latch wasn't holding. It took no expense to fix other than time.

If there is a clever trick to aligning the top tang safely button with linkage, please share.

Put the button in the safe position and the lever forward. As you drop the action into the stock, the lever will engage into the slide. Then the action will seat.
It is a good idea to push the button back and forth and see if the safety lever is moving back and forth at the bottom. That way you can see if all is engaged before you put the trigger plate on.
