About 4 years ago- aprox- I wrote an article about it, which was published in Parker Pages- Brad Bachelder and I did a "project Parker- from a 1900 GH with Damascus barrels No. 2 frame 12 gauge- which had been converted by a Midwest gunsmith (name escapes me at the nonce) from an extractor Parker to an Ejector Parker- not an easy task-- Brad found me a set of 28" VHE barrels- and they were a almost-- drop in fit- like winning the Powerball- I still have it, and it functions 100%- Brad does a lot of work on Parker restorations, and has a solid following with many of the lads in the PGCA-- I would suggest you contact Brad, as well as The Del Grego folks--Parker receivers, action parts, stocks and forearms, even if NOT factory original, can make you a fine "shooter"- and the pheasants or clays don't know or care how original was the shotgun that sent a payload of shot into their vitals, right?

If you decide to try and put this gun back together, please feel free to contact me on any or all of the parts you are missing. I have plenty of everything on hand. I can even help with Ribs and extractors if it comes to building a set of barrels.
I just do not have a good set of barrels on hand for it. If i get one in, i can give you a heads up.

Thanks, that's really comforting to know. I'm always tinkering with old guns and often come to a halt for "lack of a nail".

We do Cowboy Action Shooting and have an affinity for Marlin 1894 rifles. Critical parts are almost impossible to find and prices have went up dramatically. And the Marlin 1894 is a common gun and more or less, still in production. I also have a few old Marlin 1894s that parts are almost impossible to find. I have a real Colt SAA second generation I'd like to replace the hammer. But finding one, even at an unreasonable price is just crazy.

I had Mary bid on one last week. We had it up to the last few seconds then someone bid $1 more. I understand people set up an automatic bid deal that a person off the street can't beat. I have had her buy things that were buy now.

I visited with my old buddy I got the Parker and Bonehill shotguns from this afternoon. I wanted to check to see if he had any of the missing parts. Some he knew he never had and some he figured was lost over the years. All was not lost because I got the top ribbs to both the Parker and Bonehill shotguns. I also got a bottom rib but not sure what it goes to.

Hmmm... makes one wonder just how bad (or dangerous) those old Damascus barrels were that all that was saved were the ribs???

I don't know if these barrels were really damaged or dangerous. The old man admitted he was foolish in trying to get modern steel barrels made because he wanted to shoot modern ammo in it without worrying about it. Apparently, he sent the gun off to another gunsmith to have barrels built. I didn't get the story as to why the project was never completed.

Pretty sad how the uninformed can sometimes ruin a nice old gun believing they are doing the "smart" thing.

I bought my 16 gauge grade 2 hammer gun in a wooden box along with a partially completed set of steel barrels and the dismantled Damascus barrels.
