Pretty good article. The use of the terrm "poor" is somewhat of a misnomer. The average Welfare package a "Poor" person now receives is worth around $59,000 per year, it's just that benefit worth is not counted in the statistics. So, you can essentially live a middle class lifestyle yet can still consider yourself "oppressed" yet not have to work for your lifestyle. The poor slobs of the "working class" have to pay for it.

The disdain for the Working class is especially prevalent among government workers. In my state, government workers receive 150% compensation for the same work in the private sector, rising to 200% by retirement. Yet, they are brainwashed by their union to believe they are under compensated victims. I have a close relative who believes exactly this. It's really just another form of Welfare.
