King,

As usual, you're ignoring the true reality of the American situation. The real reason for the leftist position on immigration is the expansion of a dependant, parasitic voter class that will always vote Democrat. This is being accomplished by ignoring the rule of law using totalitarian tactics.

Interesting perspective King. I hunt waterfowl in Saskatchewan about every other year and have met some great folks up there, some quite well, who, based on long conversations with them, would ideologically disagree with the surveys you quote, concerning multiculturalism.

They also didn't have anything good to say about the current prime minister and the liberal party currently in control or for that matter, the more heavily populated, more liberal east setting the social and economic agenda for the country as a whole, including the firearms agenda. So perhaps the survey only canvassed those in the eastern part of the country?

Granted, they were very respectful and considerate in ripping on the Canadian prime minister, liberals and politicians!

"Our Liberal Prime Minister...worth gazillions."

I seem to recall reading it was 12 billion; not sure if that is US or CAN.

Guess even Libs have a price. Wonder how much will trickle down to the NS wood pulpers?

So glad Canada is such a global powerhouse now. Next time the world blows up we'll let youz guys handle it. Good luck.

As you mentioned to Jm, 'I don't recall dirt ever in your posts'. Maybe, just subtle references? But hey, the lone beacon of hope shines through. Do 'we' have to learn, or are 'you' gonna tell us? Awe heck, still wait'in for that comp life time hunt'in license, with all stamps and tags, of course!

Yes, one size doesn't fit all. Canada has been lucky in the way it developed through consensus decision-making, Saskatchewan itself producing Canada's universal medicare and a conservative prime minister as a major force in proclaiming our rights and freedoms. Resentment lingers in the West from our current prime minister's father Pierre's National Energy Plan, which hurt the oil-rich provinces on the prairies, badly. As for accuracy of the mentioned polls, you've answered the question with your observation, applying equally where you live, that majorities of the more populous centres make the rules, like it or not.

As Trump says, greatness come from your self, you've got to work at it. Our brand of multiculturalism is hard work. It takes time, always to work towards. It bores into what we want to think of ourselves. Not easy.

No subtlety re Jager. He's not in the margins because of the way he (or anyone else) votes. The Fringe is the few who can't say anything without being mean and spiteful because of differences.

"We" can't help with the lifetime hunting license.

One news report: "The deals supporters say it will boost trade by billions through cuts in tariffs across a broad swath of sectors including agriculture, pharmaceuticals and the auto industry."

It's a free trade deal with a large market Canada has worked seven years to make. Billions or gazillions would depend on how long it remains, markets disappearing like Brexit at snap of finger these days.

As for next time world blows up, Iraq-ISIS and Vietnam still-open wounds are not of our making. Canada doesn't buy the declared US doctrine of invading and occupying any country it considers inimical to its national interests.

Get used to what "Da Donald" says, Kingy, because the e-mail scandal revolving around the "Weinerman" and his pedophile urges, and his ex-wife in a key position to Billary- will unfold just in time to sink the Clinton campaign.

Donald Trump is far from a perfect candidate, he is a mysognist and tends to think of glamorous single females as being part of his happy hunting ground (remember Warren G. Hardon, FDR, JFK, LBJ, Ike with his Limey driver in Europe, Kay Somersby, and the list goes on. But having raging gonads doesn't keep a man from being a good leader, or in our case here in America, a good president (you'll note I ommitted ol' Slick Willie Clinton from the rogues list)--

There is just something about a power crazed couple like Slick Willy and Billary that could only occur in America. Neither one would know the truth, if it bit them hard on the ass. But Oh Mighty King of Canucks, pray tell me why your Countrymen (and women) hold the Queen in such high esteem. Canada celebrates it's freedom from the British Empire each July- Dominion Day I seem to recall. The Queen has about a much power in Canada as I do, yet why is she and the British Monarchy placed on such a high pedestal in your land?

The Queen, her Greece born hubby, and her children and grand-children are mere ornaments as far as the politics and power structure of Limey-Land goes. Handsome lads, well groomed, attractive spouses and very photogenic grandchildren, I will grant you, but without substance, even allowing for Prince William and Harry serving in the Military and their good works.

Canada- great County- no place to carry a handgun, but great hunting, and walleye and great beers and whiskies as well. But a trading power to compete with America-- pipe dreams, old sod, pipe dreams..

You mean it (Canada) can't, right?

Iraq is small potatoes. We could debate for years whose fault it is.

Anyway, good luck.

Ken, I understand your point. I made it similarly on a critical national issue in which I was involved directly and wrote about it in magazine article, of which this was the closing paragraph:

"In a democratic society the function of political leadership in the old tradition of Bentham and Mills is to do what the people want and the test of performance is winning at election time. (Name of federal cabinet minister) is making smart policy. It is politic, but it is not good for Canada."

It is what it is. Clinton's switcheroo on TPP an example. Trump's 35 per cent tax cut for middle class another. ". . .do what the people want and the test of performance is winning at election time." Smart campaign policy, politic but good for the United States of America?

(The article in Atlantic Insight magazine was titled, "The fishery is not a welfare system."
