Anti-2nd Amendment Trolls have no place here either, but that never stopped you King: Ed, historically the individual "right" to bear arms is relatively new. I believe John Ashcroft in 2002 became the first federal attorney-general to proclaim that individuals should be able to own guns. The Supreme Court in 2008 overturned all mainstream legal and historical scholarship by ruling that there is an individual right to own firearms although with some limits. Obama said it again last week.
I believe that during the previous 218 years the Second meant what it said: firearms shall be held by "the People"---a collective and not individual right---insofar they are in the service of "a well-regulated militia." Was an individual right even mentioned at the Constitutional Convention or in the House when it ratified the Amendment or when debated in state legislatures? I don't think so. Democracies make choices. Americans accept mass murder to defend an individual right to bear arms in the name of personal freedom. It's hardly mean-spirited to note that I'm an Obama supporter. I'm proud of it, apparent here as long as he's been around. He's anti-gun but has kept his legislative gun in his holster to position his party for '16. I note that nobody singled out Jews here either, as King dishonestly alludes. Jim mentioned the anti-gun bankrolling activities of George Soros, a Hungarian Jew who collaborated with the Nazi's during WWII by informing on other Jews. But King Brown is always quick to defend Soros, or most any other anti-gun Socialist Liberal Democrat. Jim did not mention the religion of Michael Bloomberg, or implicate any other Jews, but that doesn't stop King from stretching the truth.

Unfortunately there's no control or structure to this forum and that's really a sad stated of affairs.

I totally approve of James [ and Keith, to name just one ] post - they keep everyone aware of the constant threat against our 2nd Amendment. Hey King, the 2A was written in a section of the constitution that was stating the "rights of individuals, not the rights of the state". There was also nine more applying to individuals, not the state.

Paul, one part of The Fringe supporting racism on the part of the other is not a neutral act---nor a needed reminder to American members of this forum of threats to the Second Amendment.
An earlier Fringe post said the American Jew Soros should be shot on sight. Dave and members---as individuals, not the state--- are doing a remarkable job of tamping down abhorrent hate speech, a responsibility of individual citizenship.
Let's keep it that way.
I believe members share my concern. Those who don't would understand a Canadian's point of view of liberty and individual responsibility from reading the current cover story of the distinguished magazine The Economist of Liberty Moving North.

I've got a great idea. Whenever an illegal alien is picked up we should just ship them up to Canada. That way we'd be helping Canadians promote their "Liberal Values"....

Ken, members who want to know more of Canada’s experiment---and it is an experiment---of building a great nation of liberal values through immigration and multiculturalism, there’s the book by Jonathan Tepperman, the Canadian-born managing editor of Foreign Affairs, considered one of the most influential magazines on US international relations. The book is called “The Fix: How Nations Survive and Thrive in a World in Decline.”
Conservative governments played major roles in changing “what was once a small, closed ethnically homogenous state into a vibrant global powerhouse and one of the world’s most open and successful multicultural societies. That’s an accomplishment that politicians everywhere, especially in the US, would be wise to study carefully.” Bottom-line, in the Economist and other internationally informed sources: Canada’s gig is respect and consideration for others.
In the November issue of Canada’s distinguished magazine Walrus, Foreign Affairs’ Tepperman wrote: “One survey revealed that Canadians are prouder of multiculturalism than they are of hockey, bilingualism, and the Queen.” Multiculturalism came tenth in 1985, and had climbed to second in 2006. “All told, 85 per cent of Canadians see multiculturalism as important to their national identity.” Our Liberal prime minister today signed a mostly conservative-made trade agreement worth gazillions with Europe.
Clinton and Trump say their America as the world's greatest democracy and industrial empire will tear up trade negotiations and agreements and prosper by taking in each others' wash from glittering California to the woods of Maine. Canada could help to preserve your conservative values by buying all of America's exported GDP, re-branding and selling it to the world clamouring for it, ending any trade deficits here forever.
