Everything is a trade off as I don't want to shoot a 6 pound 10 gauge nor to I want to lug around a 8 pound 28 gauge.

I agree with Stan its the distribution of the weight that is the key not just the overall weight of the shotgun. That's why I think that the Flues is Ithaca's best as they seem to have great overall weight distribution whereas the NID seems like all the weight is awkwardly concentrated.
