I have one of the little American Gun Co 28 gauge hammer gun. Unfortunately the stock is broken on it. Not sure if it is fixable or not other than building a new one. Weighing all the parts it goes about 5 lbs. This is the model with coil mainsprings in the bar action lock. It spite of my previous comments which probably appeared all negative I do have a soft spot in my heart for the 28. I just can's see lugging around a 12ga weight gun & then chambering it for the 28. "IF" the 28 is not Petite I have little use for it.
I fully realize that skeet shooters & such use heavier guns for a competitive edge, but have many times wondered if the game would not have been more interesting "IF" a weight limit had been placed on the small bores so every one would have been on an equal level.
