I was fortunate to buy an unfinished double rifle project at a gunsmith's estate auction recently. It is a 30-30 built on a Merkel 20g ejector SxS. The barrels were not struck out and the ribs were a little ungly from a cosmetic standpoint. But most of the hard work was done. Got it for a song.
I proofed it to mame sure it was sound and it was.
I am working on re-regulating it since i have no idea what load it was built for and it was not shooting good with what i wanted to shoot. And i wanted to change the ribs on it anyway. I think i have it dialed in. The next trip to the range will tell for sure.
