I think Bill probably kerfs the dowel, inserts the ScotchBrite strip and uses the old flap sander technique with the dowel chucked in a drill motor. I have spiral-wrapped fine grade SB on a brass brush on a handleless rod and done the same to a barrel with a low-side water gutter streak of pitting in one barrel. May have smoothed out rust; I didn't really expect to remove enuf material to eliminate pits. I like JB Borepaste on a kleenex wrapped on a brush. I call that polishing. I don't do it often and I don't do it to all barrels, only the ones where I can feel the drag pushing a oiled kleenex thru a "clean" bore. Anyone else do anything similar? Wonder if you can jug choke a gun with a flex hone?
