....The shame is what produced the tragi-circus won't be addressed after this election, setting up Trump or another like him for 2020. Please explain. I thought you mentioned hillary is the keeper of the big tent. I hope you're not poking fun at her wardrobe, or making implications about her weight. My mistake, the media and hill work back room deals to be cokeepers of the big tent. Are you sure Trump's going to win this round? Will he get a second term based on merit, or will get it like the current fellow did?

Too lazy to scroll back, I think I said circumspection has become a big tent, from mostly respectful responses on the board, not Hilary.
Appreciate try at mirth but, no Trump. He's gone. America's principal problem is after the election as I explained in previous posts.
Who knows extent merit in electing presidents? There was a fellow before current who got in with a half-million less votes than his opponent.

James,
It is pretty obvious that Trump's conservative supporters are isolationists. I think they would be well served by following your advise...change is coming, better get on the band wagon. Isolationism is an ideology of the past and the world and its economy is moving forward.
As for me ignoring mainstream media bias, you should just put me in the camp of not agreeing that it exists. My take on it is that subscribers of this theory just do not like the facts that they are hearing. So instead of coming to grips with news they don't like, its easier to attack and distrust the source. Life is full of bad news, best to learn how to deal with it as opposed to come up with a conspiracy of bias.
Having read through your responses and linked articles, I still am not seeing any details on his policies or changes that he would make. There is nothing but grandiose promises and statements with nothing behind them. It is amazing that so many people can be duped by a snake oil salesman.
And where do they get this idea that he is not a hawk? The man would order the navy to engage in an act of war if some poor fool flips them the bird. How is he he going to destroy ISIS in 30 days without the use of a large ground force or the use of tactical nukes? The fact they he would consider the use of a nuke not as an absolute last resort is astounding and extremely dangerous. Micheal Hayden is right. Trump is a clear and present danger.

Gentlemen,
I have no wish to intrude upon private grief or enter into an equally private fight, but as a little boy my late Mother read me to sleep with the "Just so Stories". Were she still with us, she'd be kicking all round the pig hovel the arses of those who misquote RK.
It's cold "iron", not cold steel, as anyone with a grasp of the meaning of the poem (and a knowledge of metallurgical history) could attest.
Pray continue.
Eug

Thanks for your decorum, along with the clear and concise presentation of facts, track record and policy. You make a convincing case. All I can bring to the table is, clip coupons. Thrifty, your gender neutral amigo philosophizing for permission to conduct limited environmentally friendly sport shooting.

Hey Thrifty, does the "d" stand for dinosaur?
BTW, thanks for noticing the level of decorum. Based on prior conversations I had with James, I have a good amount of respect for him and I don't expect to change the way he thinks. I only hope that there is an objective re-evaluation of the basis for the support for Trump.
Now when it comes to the members of the cabal. I'm comfortable with the mutual seething contempt that defines our relationship.

One pheasant in the pot. More to go. The wonders of modern tech!
Giving the dog a breather. Her tail won't stop wagging.
Now this is a day. Crapping on liberals in the morning, shooting over my setter in the afternoon. We live in a glorious time.

I'm glad you had a good hunt with your dog. The rest of the statement is below you if you hold yourself out as wanting to engage the other side.
