Is anyone making decent quality aftermarket open sights for the ruger no.1 single shots ? I broke the rear sight off my own when it slid over off a rack, the originals aren't very good. I know everyone uses scopes, but i like irons.

They seem to import limited number of higher quality components. Manufacturer site offers many products..... Perhaps NECG can bring something over for you.... PS. Oops, never mind I see you live in EU so you probably can get something ordered quicker.

"somwers in Jawja" is in the Southern USA not Europe. That translates to Somewhere in Georgia with Georgia being a Southern state in the US on the Atlantic Coast.

Just yesterday I installed the NECG peep rear and white bead front on a No. 1 in .45-70. The front needed a bit of fiddling to get it right but it's a very fast sight for me.
Hopefully, they can be had in Dublin.

The Dublin i am in is the one on the eastern side of the atlantic, not the one in Ohio USA. If there is someone in europe, probably Germany selling these sights, i should have little trouble getting them.

If the NECG sight is what you are looking for, it was likely made either by Recknagel(ERA) or Ernst Apel Wuerzburg(EAW). Both are located in Germany and NECG uses their products for some of the work they do.

This is the Ruger receiver sight made by Recknagel and marketed by NECG. It comes with two eyepiece inserts in 3.2 and 2.4mm.  Just Google "Recknagel" for their various catalogs.
