Thank you one and all for your feedback and compliments. I hope to answer everyone's questions: Everything was scratch built except for the locks and barrels. The "Hawken" (late English) locks are from L&R and the 12 bore barrels are Belgium made Damascus having proof marks dating them prior to 1893. The stock was carved from a beautiful slab of American black walnut harvested in Oregon. Hand cut classic pattern checkering was added to the wrist spaced nine lines to the inch. Faux case hardened coloring was applied to the breech plugs, false breech and lock plates then patinated to represent roughly 80% remaining color. My own formula old time slow rust blue colors the butt plate. This work lacks the final touch of engraving but will be fully engraved hopefully by this time next year. It's a fine shooter and I plan to break bunches of clay birds with it.
