Ken says, Okay guys, here they are. Please keep in mind that there will be more detail added after the stocking is finished. I only detailed it so much as I was afraid that if scratched prior to casing , there would be more polishing out of detail that would have to be put back in. Stock should be finished within a month or so. It will be a POW grip with Silvers pad on Nicely figured Eng. walnut. Checkering will be either 22 or 24 LPI fancy pattern.

Excellent, a nicely figured piece of wood is the only thing that can make it better. I love that scroll work!
Make sure you post pics when the stock is done.

I can't get enough of the heads on the breech balls. I may have Ken do an eight gauge with my head on the breech balls! I am looking forward to looking at the stippling through a high power magnifier when I get near the gun again. Thanks. Murphy

Bill, the detail done was accomplished using 3X mag. I can work up to 40X mag.. but the cost factor goes out of sight. Personally, I feel 10X should be max for bolino work as most can't see the detail it will allow you to see, especially if piece is color cased without removing color. I wanted this to be a piece I wouldn't have to worry about while hunting soooo, decided to go with less detail. Howevr, there will be more detail added prior to casing just to give it that finished look. Glad y'all like it at this stage. Ken

PS ---- I meant to add that this Baker was given to me with a busted butt stock and blown damascus bbl and forend. Was informed where I could find a replacement bbl for $100.and with another $100. Buck Hamlin fitted it & did a few improvements. I hate to see these old ladies go down the drain so when it was offered free or be thrown away, I jumped at it. I hope to encourage others to consider what can be done with some old guns. Ken

Stunning. How many hours would you estimate you have into it thus far? What are your plans for it? Excellent job.

Looks great but come on - a pad? A gun like that deserves a bit of steel on the butt.

Storm, I can only guesstimate at this time as I haven't added up the long list of hours/days. I think I have about 80-100 hours in it including the day it took to cut the fences fron the front of the side tables to the bottom of the frame. The time study will tell when I'm finished. The overall time would be much less if this sculpting wasn't done along with all the hand polishing that was needed.
