Brother Larry,
Good morning.
I was going to test the AA's yesterday but only had 9's. Here is day two data that I posted on the 28ga forum. I need to run down and pickup a box of AA #8's.

I shot a few more loads yesterday.
My first test was 7/8oz of #8's at 30 yards. My pellet count was 130 out of my left barrel. I was expecting higher. It was a slight bit thinner than the 7-1/2's which had 137 but still even with only a couple of softball sized holes. I will be shooting 7-1/2's in the second barrel.

On to 22 yards.
Right barrel only.
Both the 3/4 oz and 7/8oz patterned very well at this distance. I only shot #8's at 22yards. Pellet count was 173 and 203 which is proportional to the load weight.
Either load will work fine. So:
3/4oz of #8 in the 1st barrel
7/8oz of #7-1/2 in the second barrel

The Scott weights 5lbs 13oz. The recoil was very distinct with the 7/8oz load. Definitely not a clays gun with 7/8oz..

The time spent patterning was WELL worth the effort and eye opening. There would have been a severe handicap at 30yrds if I had just rolled with the 3/4oz of #8's in both barrels. If I were lazy and only wanted to take 1 load, it would be 7/8oz of #8's.

Hope this was helpful! It sure worked for me.
