Personally, i never see, or look for the sights when shooting at a clay or bird......BUT, I MOST DEFINITELY use the sight/s rib when mounting the gun to get shouldering feel, for that reference that i am mounting the gun properly. All that said, if i am shooting trap, with a field gun, i,will conciously make certain that i can see the entire surface of the rib as i set up in the "mounted" position.

Finally, i think that the eye and brain either subliminally, or just happens faster that we realize, use that sight as a reference when shooting instinctively.

Finally, this conversation digresses greatly from the topic, but interesting nonetheless.

I love the look Hobbs, my Vizsla, gives me following my second miss in a row.
